Opening Weekend

Well, opening weekend went pretty well if I say so myself. No, I wasn't 100% perfect but I'm always harder on myself and hopefully the audience doesn't know that I messed up. :) We've got two more weekends left!

Recently I was invited to sing in a church choir on Sunday July 3, by one of the cast members. It seems she and her hubby have recruited just about the entire cast. :) Since I don't have a church and I'm always open to trying out new churches and after talking it over with Izak we've decided we'll give it a try. Why not right?

I'm also excited because this same person is offering piano lessons and I would LOVE to take lessons again. I'd LOVE to be able to sit down at a piano and actually play something! I used to know how to play Fur Elise and since I don't have a piano or keyboard to practice on my 'skill' went away... My brother has a keyboard that he said I could borrow and of course I still need to check with Izak but I would love to take lessons again... even if it's just for a little bit.

It seems the Du Toit girls are all sick! Including me! Yes, I know. I don't get sick that often but I figure since we opened last weekend and all that build up to opening and being stressed about leaving the girls etc... of course my immune system would break down. I felt my throat getting scratchy Sunday. And I was SO worried about being able to sing! But I made it through somehow. By Monday it was slowly getting worse. I went to the doctor yesterday and got a z-pack and an inhaler. I even tried the neti pot that Izak swears by but I didn't care for it that much. I'm just praying that I'm good to go come Friday. I need to be. That's all there is to it! Millie is just about over her ear infection/bronchitis! And poor Bea is slowly loosing her croupy cough... slowly! I'm actually quite surprised that Izak hasn't gotten sick since he normally gets sick once hears someone sneeze!

Camille is talking up a storm! She is saying so many words! It amazes me. And it seems like she can actually hold a conversation. The other day I had her in bed with me and she started flopping around. I told her: Camille, you've got to go to sleep now or I'm going to put you back in your crib. She replied: kaaaay. And she fell right asleep. She's so precious! I love her cute little face and her little voice! When she wants something she starts squawking and it's the funniest thing. In the morning I hear here saying: Maaaama... Maaaama!!! I love that little girl so much!

Beatrice can act so grown up and be so helpful when she wants to be! And when she doesn't she can be a little turd! But she says the cutest things. Like last night she said: uncle David is a snore head! And this morning she wanted to hear me sing. I asked her what song and she said: the ee oo ee oo sh-boom song. So I turned on the cd and started singing and after the song is over it goes right into the next song (like many cd's do) and Bea said: wait mom you forgot to talk! Meaning I forgot to say my lines that come right after that song. And she's only seen the show twice! How she remembers that is beyond me!
