Trophy

I'm concerned. Beatrice keeps talking about a trophy. How she hopes she wins one after her recital. I keep telling her it's not a competition it's a performance. You don't get trophies for performances. Then I read the paperwork from her dance studio, they're selling trophies for $20! Can you believe that!? That's so lame! First of all I do not want to spend the money period. Second I don't need another meaningless item around the house to sit and collect dust. I want Bea to get a trophy because she earned it. Not because I bought it. Where's the meaning in that? I try to explain this to Bea. I'm going to be so pissed if they hand out trophies after the recital and Bea is the only one that doesn't get one.... GRRRRR!

Updates

So, after much trouble, I finally got my new glasses last Friday. I've been slowly easing into wearing them. I've only worn them for computer work at this point. I'm not sure. I haven't had any headaches.... but I don't know. I guess I just need to get used to them.

Looks like blogger recently changed some things... Not sure if I like it. I really hope it doesn't mess up my page!

Friday afternoon Izak picked up Millie from daycare. They said she woke up from nap with a slight fever. By the time I got home there was nothing slight about her fever! In true Millie fashion she was on fire! We pumped her full of Tylenol and Ibuprofen.  (She refused both we practically had to hold her down and force it down her throat!) During the day she was hot, but still in good spirits. At night she just got irritable. I felt so bad for her. Saturday I noticed she had little cold sores or something around her mouth, in her mouth, and on her palms. I started to freak out! My mom thought it was chicken pox! Sunday was the same and by Monday she had red spots on her heels! She was saying that her feet were hurting too. I was able to take her in to the doctor and it turns out it's hand, foot, and mouth disease! She got it from another kid at daycare obviously! When I called the daycare to inform them that Millie wouldn't be coming in they had said another kid and a slight fever and a "rash" earlier in the week. Oh a 'rash' huh? That's what we're calling it now... UGH! I'm so pissed. I get so upset at these dang mom's who take their sick kids to school anyway! There is nothing I can give her except Tylenol, Ibuprofen and oral Benadryl. Not that she'd actually take any prescription medicine... She's hopefully on the mend. Poor baby. I just pray Bea doesn't get it.

I finished the house painting the weekend before last! The kitchen too! I still have some small projects to do, like framing the mirror and covering the holes in the base boards.  But so far my house is pretty much done. Pictures are up, the place is clean I even had bible study at my house this last weekend. I'm really very happy with the transformation. I'd still like to tackle MY bathroom, and paint the kitchen cabinets, maybe get a new light fixture in there as well... but we'll see. I'm taking a break for a couple of more weekends! I need to relax and get out of the house! I know I still need to take pictures and post them... maybe I can get to that sometime this week....

Next home improvement project: the front and back yard.... hmmm... I think I might need to bring in some outside help on that one.

 

Trying to find the answers...

I've been getting horrible headaches for a while now. They seem to always hit me mid morning, and only at work. At first I thought it was because I wasn't snacking enough. But that can't be it because I've tried snacking. Monday I stayed home and went to the doctor. (I still got a headache.) She gave me a pain pill specific to headache pains. I also asked her to refer me a neurologist. Yesterday, I was grasping at straws and decided to go get an eye exam - haven't had one in a while now. My prescription has changed a bit. I told the doctor my eye glasses background, and what's been going on and he seems to think that this new prescription will help. He also said if it didn't I could bring them back in after a week and get my money back. I'm hoping I'll get those on Friday. (I'm desperate to feel better.) The pills SLOWLY dull the headache pain... I was also thinking that maybe before the neurologist I should go to a ear, nose and throat doctor? I mean, in case it's some weird sinus thing?? Like I said, I'm grasping at straws. I've just felt so crappy this week.

In other news the girl's bathroom is finally done! I haven't taken pictures yet but I'll try to this weekend. I've been on a painting frenzy and took a break during the week. The rest of the house is almost done. I hope to finish it this weekend for sure. Then I'll still have two walls in the kitchen, my bathroom, and MAYBE finish painting the garage.
