What to do... what to do....

I've been researching whether or not to keep Beatrice at Montessori for Kindergarten or take her to the public school.

First problem: What will I do with her when she's not in school? You know because kindergarten is only half days at public school.

I've been calling around to places that watch the kids and ideally pick them up and drop them off at school. Nobody does pick up/drop off. Either because they just don't or we're out of their range. So I can pick her up and drop her off myself... then pick her up and drop her off at whatever place we decide to go with.

Me running around either in the morning or on my lunch break taking Bea to her schools... hmmm....

Then there is Millie... still over at Montessori. I still have to drive across town.

Once place I called is a preschool. The owner has Montessori training, used to work at a Montessori school, been in business for a number of years. She can watch Bea IF I enroll her in afternoon kindergarten - I don't really have a preference myself - I'd have to take her to kindergarten and then pick her up again. This same place has space for Millie! The two girls in ONE place still continuing their Montessori learning and literally right down the street from me. WAY closer than across town and a bit cheaper if you factor in Bea going to kindergarten.

So what to do? Make the change? Yeah, it's closer but I'd still use up my lunch time dropping Bea off at school. Then I'd have to pick her up around 3 and probably bring her to work with me. I could pay $50 extra a month to take her back to the preschool but lets face it, I more often then not have maybe an hour and a half left of working once I get back from dropping her off at the preschool.. It would just be easier for me to take her to work then go get Millie once I wrap everything up....

Or do I stay where we are. Driving across town and spending a crazy amount of money?

Can someone just pick for me?

Kindergarten RECON

So, I'm gearing up for Kindergarten registration... IN MARCH!

I signed Bea up for Green House - just in case.

I'm still looking into other options regarding public school kindergarten and what to do with her once her session is over...

I have one lead where I'll have to take her to her school myself since they don't drive out that far.

I have another lead but I couldn't get a hold of anyone so I left a message... sigh.

I already called the doctor's office to see what booster's she might need.  I plan on camping out at the school to sign her up. Just kidding!

I hope everything works out.

Strong Girls

I have the bravest strongest girls!

Millie went in for ear tube surgery yesterday morning. We waited for the doctor to be ready for the operation on a gurney in the back room. Millie played with her new Lalaloopsy mini the whole time. I had told her the doctor was going to fix her ears. She said she wanted to go home and I said she couldn't until she took a little nap. She got to wear her own clothes and pick out the scent of the 'air' she got to breath. When the nurse came to get her to take her back to the O.R she was reluctant but went. And literally 5 min later the doctor walked into the waiting room and told us she was done but still sleeping and as soon as she started to wake up we could go see her. Shortly after the nurse came in to get us because she was waking up. I could see her in another nurses arms she was groggy but way better then she was the last time we had this done. She just rested in my arms, on my lap, said: Mommy I love you and then wanted some water. The nurse said she could have clear stuff and just have her sip the water in case she throws it all up. She also got a grape Popsicle which she devoured with no issues... she even ate some skittles with no issues!! I was worried she'd puke everything up!  I figured she'd want to stay home from dance and rest but NO, she wanted to go! She's such a trooper and so brave and strong.

The second time around getting the ear tubes in was way better than the first time. I don't know if it was because she's older or because we went with a pediatric ear, nose and throat doctor or what. But I would go to this doctor in a heartbeat with any other issues within his realm.

Mom Fail

Soooo yesterday was crazy. (This week IS crazy.) I thought I was on top of it all yesterday. I was on my way to pick up the girls. Sure I was texting two people at once (trying to find a home for a puppy that got dumped) as I walked into the girls' school to pick them up and get them ready for gym. They were inside because it was too cold to play outside, and I walked into the wrong room! The teacher looked at me with concern and said: Are you okay? Um... yeah... so what if I walked into the wrong room, it's a small school... I was distracted... I round up the girls and took them to the bathroom where they proceed to shout and giggle and just be girls. I'm trying to get them dressed but they both have their own way of doing things.. it's so frustrating! Just let me put your damn gym outfits on so we can go! Finally get them dressed and we're off to the gym... The gym where I feel like I'm in high school again trying to get the cool girl's attention... lame. (Insert BIG eye-roll.) I make it through gym, get the girls home sit down to eat and I think: God, I have to get their lunch boxes out of the car and make their lunches. Then I think: Wait, I didn't see their lunch boxes... SHIT! I left them at school! BRILLIANT! I try SO hard to keep everything together... I was so pissed at myself. I mean how hard is it to remember the lunch boxes!? I pick them up every day... in between holding on to the girls' jackets and their craft projects that they shove at me for ME to hold... I think I'm just gonna start bringing a giant bag with me when I go to pick them up so I can just shove everything in there.

UGH!!

Today is crazy as well, I have to sit in a 4 hour long class so I can get my ccw permit... but before that I have to grab something to eat and get the balloons I pre-ordered for Bea's birthday tomorrow... So she can wake up to balloons too.

I know it's barely started but I want this week to be over with already.

Tubes

We took Millie to another ear doctor this morning. A pediatric ear, nose and throat doctor. Ultimately she has to have ear tubes again.  :(  We're going to have this new doctor do the procedure. I'm hoping this time around Millie will be a bit better when she wakes up from her operation. Sigh.

Photography

So the photographer that I LOVE just went up in price... :( Bye-bye fun mini sessions... bye-bye fun photo outings... :(  I will not go back to JCP! So I was thinking I'd take matters into my own hands and try to take photos myself.  This means I will have to upgrade my current camera because it takes sooooo long to take a picture I often miss the cute expression on my girl's faces. I can't afford a Nikon or a Cannon Rebel like SOME people!  Any other suggestions out there??

House project pictures!

So, over the weekend while talking (well texting) my prima I realized I hadn't posted any updates of my kitchen cabinets or bathroom! I did gel stain the cabinets after all! And re-did the moulding and re-painted my bathroom.  I've yet to put up my new light fixture in the kitchen... I guess this spring/summer I'll focus on the outside of the house...

Before....

Almost there....

Done!!
(Sorry for the horrible pictures and the mess! I'm in party mode.)

Here is my bar a couple coats in and with out the clear shiny stuff on it.

So I didn't get a good shot of the new crown moulding in the picture...

It was a lot of work! But it's done and it looks SO good! And it was WAAAY cheaper than getting NEW cabinets!

Happy New Year!

I've been pretty much consumed by planning the girls' joint birthday party!  And it will be here before I know it. The girls wanted an Alice in Wonderland theme and I've been thinking up ways to get my house to look like Wonderland... yeah pretty much impossible! This is the first year I'm combining the two birthdays... back to back parties is a little crazy. We'll see how this one goes...
