Fun stuff with GiGi!

Thursday night Bea spent the night at GiGi and Grandpy's because I had to work and Bea didn't have school the next day. Beatrice and my Mom made homemade ornaments AND sugar cookies! (I'll have to get the sugar cookie pictures from my Mom and post them later, they are hilarious!) Here are some of the pictures my mom took of Bea making ornaments. She sent them to me while I was at work. I missed all the fun. But I did get to help a little with the sugar cookie process!

I had hoped to decorate the house this weekend for Christmas, but it looks like it's gonna have to wait for next weekend. I was commissioned to bake for a friend's birthday party this evening and I was also asked to make some bows for a friend of my mom's so I've been busy this weekend! I did manage to see the movie The Blindside though. It was very good! It makes me want to watch football! HA!

Next weekend I hope to decorate AND get our Christmas tree! I can't wait to see Bea's face as she runs around on the Christmas tree lot to pick out her first Christmas tree. She's already enjoyed the few Christmas lights that are up in our neighborhood and Gigi's neighborhood. Izak actually surprised me on Friday and had our lights up! Beatrice was thrilled. I think this Christmas is going to be very exciting for Bea. Now that she understands more. She's already talking about Santa.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We got up 'early' and headed to Gigi and Grandpy's to help make pies. Below is Beatrice helping to take the stickers off of the apples. She then tried her hand at peeling the apples!
My mom has pictures of her actually stirring the pumpkin pie mixture. Bea and Grandpy made her, her own little pumpkin pie. She couldn't wait to dig into it!

Hmm... not sure if she likes the whip cream better than the pumpkin pie.

And of course, a Thanksgiving tradition playing Slamwhich! You're never to young to learn...

Funny Girl

Beatrice is so funny! My mom and dad were over on Sunday and Bea walked out of her room looking like this:

Earlier that day Izak had bought Bea a turkey cupcake and we let her have it after dinner that night.

"Meal"

When you ask Beatrice where her baby sister is she'll say: "mommy's belly." She's even crawled up on her old crib and peaked inside in the hopes of seeing Camille sleeping in there. Bea even has a nickname picked out for Camille she calls her 'meal.' Maybe by the time Camille gets here Bea will have a different name for her??

Want That!

Beatrice and I were watching Dora the other morning while eating breakfast and a Barbie commercial came on. She pointed to the t.v and said, "Want That!" Uh-oh! She's already starting her 'want' phase!? I'm in trouble!

In the Pink!

We had a very full day today! We all got up early and then Beatrice and Izak went to get doughnuts. Then we all jumped in the car and went to Target, Cost Plus, Lowes and Pier 1. We mainly went to all those places because I decided to decorate a pink Christmas tree just for Bea's room. We were at a craft fair yesterday and they had this little tree there with pink disco balls and a pink star as a tree topper. She kept pulling off the pink disco balls. So I was on a mission to find pink ornaments. To my surprise I didn't have much luck. Until I was told that Wal*Mart had some pink ornaments. So after lunch we made the trip to Tulare (because I hate our Wal*Mart) and guess what!? I found the pink disco balls and more pink ornaments! I was so thrilled. So Bea's tree is almost done, I just need to get more hooks for the ornaments. Below are some pictures of Bea helping me decorate her tree.

While out looking for pink ornaments I found this cute little pink piggy bank at Pier 1. I thought it would be a good learning tool for Beatrice. I also picked one up for Camille.

Bea's tree is almost done!

Before dinner Beatrice and I started to work on our Christmas cards. We only got about six done. We have a lot more to go!

Whenever you ask Beatrice what kind of birthday she wants to have she says: "PINK!" So I've been brainstorming pink birthday ideas. I bought her the Pinkalicious book at Target today and she LOVES it! This week Stacey is coming home so I hope to enlist her in brainstorming ideas for the party and favors - since all of Bea's friends are boys! I hope to get a good deal of party shopping out of the way before Camille gets here. I figure that way it will be done and I won't feel stressed about having to go out with Camille or without her while she's still so little.

A couple of things...

Yesterday we went to Costco as a family. We got there right when they opened so we got in and out right away. It was nice to miss the crowds.

Beatrice has started this new thing: not wanting to get into her car seat. I'll put her in it and she'll say: "No Mommy" and crawl out. She'll then crawl into the drivers seat and proceed to take a coin out of my coin tray and try to stick it in the ignition. She then refuses to get into her seat. I've tried bribing her with all kinds of things and nothing works! I finally just have to get her and physically restrain her and strap her into her seat the whole time she is screaming and kicking and saying: "No Mommy!" It's so much fun. Any suggestions on how to combat that?

Anyways, once we got her home Izak and I start to unload the car. Beatrice was inside and before we knew it she had locked the garage door and turned the lights off on us! Luckily I had my house key in my purse in the car and I was able to unlock the door, but what would we have done otherwise!? Sure she knows how to lock the door but could she unlock it?? That was a close call for Izak and I!

A not so new thing that Bea does is always fighting me on nap time! I used to lay with her and have to hold her down while she cried to get her to fall asleep. Now, although I would still love to nap with her, she just doesn't want to sleep! So after trying the good guy approach and trying to lay with her and hold her, when that doesn't work I have to turn into the bad guy and say in my stern no none sense voice: "Beatrice! Lay down!" sometimes I have to go so far as to demand that she closes her eyes. This approach always works best because before I know it she is out like a light! But still who likes to be the bad guy!? On the other hand, Izak was with her for a good part of the day a couple of weeks ago and she refused to sleep too. He just kind of let it go. But once I got home and took matters into my own hands, guess who got Bea to sleep? Yup, that's right, me! Izak can be such a softie sometimes!

Home for the Holidays?

Yesterday I saw my doctor. Things are progressing fine with Camille, although she still wants me to gain weight, a pound a week! I've been eating like crazy! Or at least so I thought... : I was talking to her about her vacation schedule and how I told work I'd probably take off the week before I was due. My doctor said, "That seems awfully late. We'll have this baby out before Christmas so you can be home for the holidays!" Isn't that great? To think Camille will be here before Christmas! How exciting! I jokingly asked her if I could have Camille at the end of this month and she said: "Well that's up to you, if you do a lot of walking..." I hardly walk anywhere nowadays... So we'll see if Camille would like to arrive at the end of this month instead of being a December baby. :)

Quite the talker

Bea amazes me everyday. She is such a talker... I wonder who she gets that from?? Her Dad maybe?? :) She's been saying: 'Want that!' And when she hears a noise she says: 'Noise?' And when somebody is doing something she'll ask: 'Doing Daddy?' (or whoever it is that is doing something.) And a couple of times when I've exclaimed 'Ouch!' Bea will come running and say: 'Happen Mommy? Happen?' She's always looking for the moon even during the day. When my parents got her this hideously scary witch, whose eyes light up and she screams, for Halloween (I know who'd have thought that would be a good gift for a almost 2 year old!?) Bea kept saying: 'Scary witch! Mommy scared, Daddy scared, Grampy scared, Gigi scared, Me scared!' I just love to hear her talk! The last couple of mornings she's helped my feed Ruggers. I got it on video and I will post it tonight hopefully. And last night she was reading 'Goodnight Moon' to herself. I got a bit of that on video too. She is getting so big and so smart everyday it amazes me! I hope she will get a long with her little sister.

More Kids!

Beatrice had a blast this Halloween. She went trick or treating for the first time. We just went to three houses, but that was enough. She was kind of confused as to why the first person gave her one chocolate in her little treat bag. But she was just getting started. The next two houses the people let her pick her own treats! And boy she was not shy! :) After that we came home and ate baby pumpkins that Grandpy had made. Bea loved to watch all the different kids come to the door. Every time the doorbell rang her little face would light up and she'd say: "More Kids!" and jump down from where ever she was at and run to the door, or more likely jump into some body's arms so she could see better. By the end of the night she was passing out the candy! She'd hold the cauldron of candy and carefully pick one piece of candy out and then drop it into the kid's treat bag. It was so cute! And it was a great way to ration out the candy! Beatrice was also saying: "Happy Ween!" to everybody that came to the door. Earlier that day we decorated the remainder of our pumpkins. Beatrice had a lot of fun sticking stickers on her pumpkins and then helping me place them out in the front yard.
