Sick House

Wednesday morning Beatrice woke up puking. Her puking wasn't as severe as Millie's. I stayed home with them. And I decided to keep the girls home for the rest of the week. Especially since the daycare called me (in the guise of checking on Camille) to basically tell me (blame me) for the epidemic of the stomach bug that hit her facility after Camille was there on Monday. She informed me that all but two of her kids went home puking and/or had diarrhea. Yeah and? I probably imagined it. She was probably just making conversation and the whole time I was hearing her reprimand me for being a bad parent/person. (Um, I pretty much do that to myself on a regular basis and I sure as shit don't need anyone else really confirming that, thank you very much. And if I did, I'd ask.)

Beatrice is doing great. She just had a small bout. Millie on the other hand, woke up puking yesterday. And her diarrhea is, I think/hope, going away. She's not dehydrated at all. The doctor told me what to look for and believe me I'm constantly looking for that. Fingers crossed these girls can get healthy over the weekend.

I still don't know where we picked this up. Speculation has been that Millie got it while playing at a public park and eating cheerios at the same time. I've already decided that when we're at the park there will be no eating during play time. And we'll just have to be more diligent with the anti-bacterial hand gel. I just hate being one of those germaphobe parents. I mean, a little bit of germs is good for you, it helps build up your immunity. But this latest shit that's going around is not good at all.
