Pictures

This is right when we got home from Urgent Care. She was terribly upset about how ugly it all was.

This was Monday. I was finally able to get her dressed. (All day Sunday she stayed in her pj's.) The sling they gave us at Urgent Care kept slipping off her arm so I fashioned one out of Grandma Rose's old scarves.

Tuesday after Izak picked her up from school and went searching for pink and purple ace bandages. He didn't find any but this weird stuff. It works and she is happy.

My Millie! The gymnast! She's getting quite good.

I'll try to post pictures of the party later. I took pictures with my actual camera and not my camera phone like these above. I still think the quality is better on an actual camera...

What a weekend!

Over the weekend I had a little shin-dig for my brother's Golden birthday/graduation.  It was fun to throw something together for him. I hope he enjoyed it.

This same day Beatrice fell wrong on her arm while jumping on the trampoline and broke it! I at first thought she was just crying more out of embarrassment then pain but she kept crying, even when offered strawberry ice cream with sprinkles. Izak and I took her to Urgent Care 30 min before they closed. She had x-rays taken and the doctor came in and said: "It's broken. Follow up with your pediatrician this week." Then two nurses came in and put a smelly fiber glass splint on her arm and wrapped it up with ace bandage and then gave her a kiddie sling for it. Beatrice started crying immediately. She felt she looked ugly. She was so upset. I felt horrible for her. I offered to take her to the movies the next day but she didn't want to be seen. She kept saying people would laugh at her. (I'm not sure where she got that from.)

Today I took her to the pediatrician. She said she was sending me to the Ortho to see an expert. But she assured me she wouldn't need a pin. So we got squeezed into seeing the ortho - had to wait a bit. He came in, unwrapped her arm, looked at it... then said: "You can just keep this on if you'd like, you can take it off for a bit in the evenings, just don't bump her arm. Otherwise we could put a hard cast on." No question there! Lets just keep the smelly one! Especially if we can take it off in the evening! It will make bath time easier for sure. Bea was a little sad because we'd been telling her she could get a pink cast and have everyone sign it. But I told her this was way better especially since we'll be going to the beach and Disney Land in a few weeks. I also told her that she could just have the kids sign her ace bandage. She seemed to be content with that.

I'm just glad we'll be able to take it on and off. Glad she'll be able to preform in her recital without it and glad she'll be better for swim lessons! Thank you Lord!!

In other news I've been working with Millie to use the potty like a big girl! She did really well all day yesterday. I just hope while at daycare she doesn't revert back! I'm anxious to have her potty trained so she can start Green House in the fall and take ballet class - she LOVES to dance!

Does any other mom have days like this?

This morning... it's going ok... Bea wakes up with a bad dream, which in turn wakes Millie up. I've been slowly trying to get Millie ready for potty training. So I have her sit on the potty. She goes. Then I go get a diaper. There is none to be found. I know I have ONE last one in my car. I go to get it. It's gone. I search my purse. Nothing. Shit.  I call Izak. (Just to make sure I wasn't going crazy.) He'd used it last night. GREAT! I remember we have some left over swim pull-ups. I go in search for them. Of course I couldn't find them because in an effort to organize my life I put them in a much better spot, though I can't think of where that might be right then. So I'm tearing through the girl's closet, frantic. Finally! Found them. I get Millie dressed and we head to get breakfast. Everyone wants cereal this morning. I'm getting the girls situated with their cereal and I hear my cell phone ringing in the bedroom. Can't get it. So we finally sit down to eat, the phone goes off again. Still can't get it.  I'm trying to eat/look for some dumb show for Bea on her iPad when Millie spills her whole bowl. The milk is on the table and on the floor. PERFECT!!! The land line rings now. F*ck! Really?!?! I answer it in the midst of cleaning the milk up every where. I'm so pissed... on my way to yet another brilliant morning/day. I somehow manage to get out of the house somewhat on time.  I drop Bea off first. She complains about her tummy hurting. (I don't need the girls to get sick again! I hate it when they're sick.) When I get to the daycare there is a little boy crying. Turns out he's crying because 'M' wouldn't let him eat his stuff from home there. I wanted to say: 'But I thought I was the only family that did that?' But I bit my tongue. Then found out that another two kids called in sick this morning and that her helper is sick again. I'm really hoping that the helper is just out looking for a new job. (Again, I really don't want my girls to be sick!)  So that was my fun morning. Please tell me I'm not the only one that has such crazy out of control mornings!

Seriously!?

I'm so mad right now! I'm steaming!! I just dropped Millie off at the dumb b**ch day care... and she freakin' did it to me again. We were the first ones there for Christ's sake! Millie had ONE freakin' MINI pancake that she was currently eating. And the dumb broad continues to lecture me about how she (Millie) doesn't really want it, nor does she really need it. And how I'm the only family that still feeds my freakin' kid... and she needs to learn. You (me) either need to take it away from her when you get here or wait for her to finish it in the car. And I'm just livid. Perhaps any other day I'd be like: yeah whatever... but last night Bea woke up puking.... she's puked every hour... I didn't get much sleep worried about her and Millie.(Millie was puking on Sunday.) So I am SO not in the mood to be lectured about what my kid needs or doesn't need. I want to scream!!!!!

Wrap up week...

Monday I went to the neurologist for my headaches.  She just wanted to medicate me! She was prescribing this medication and she was talking about it and it just freaked me out! Needless to say I won't be going back to her. The last couple of days I have NOT had a headache... go figure. I've been trying to take breaks when I'm working on the computer. I'm still trying to figure out if my glasses are helping.

This morning the daycare lady nearly made me cry. She has a new rule about food from home. She'd rather us not bring it in. The kids share the food and their germs... I understand that. Millie has been doing really well with not bring food in. Two days this week she's had food. I've told Millie that she needs to finish her pancakes before we get to daycare. They are small mini pancakes so I figure what's the big deal? This morning the daycare lady tells me:

M: 'Sam, I'd really appreciate it if you didn't bring Camille in with food.'

S: 'I know! I tell Camille that she needs to finish them before we get here.'

M: 'Well at some point you're just going to have to not give her anything or take them away from her' (insert her cackle that makes me feel two feet tall.)

S: 'Well, M, I have to feed Bea. And then Camille sees that Bea has food and she wants something too. What am I going to do? Not give her anything?'

Then M changes the subject and says how good Camille is at sharing yada yada yada. I got pissed. Sure I probably over reacted but really? I get you've been running a daycare all your life. And yeah you have ONE kid. And it might be super easy for you to not let kids have anything but honestly M giving Camille a bloody effin' mini pancake in the morning is a lot EASIER then telling her no and hearing her scream and whine ALL the way to school. You take the pancake away from her! You deal with it. And the kids sharing food and sharing germs! Puh-lease you let the freakin' moms bring their sick kids IN to daycare and the get effin' sick anyways!!  I guess I just hate it how people who are older and have kids are like soooo in the know and know-it-all's about kids... Don't tell me how to parent. I'll make my mistakes on my own without anyone's help. Unless I specifically come to you... keep your trap shut.

Home Improvement pictures

Here is my ORANGE kitchen with my great citrus labels I re-framed. I like the change... but what to do with all the extra orange paint!?

You can't really tell but this wall and the wall with the masks on it are two different colors!

My 'new' entry way.

The girl's bathroom.  The picture doesn't do the blue justice.

I still need to frame the mirror. Fix the base moulding in the rest of the house. Finish painting the garage... and re-do MY bathroom!  Sigh.  I'll get to it... in a couple of weeks or so. :) Oh! And I can't decide if I want to paint the kitchen cabinets... I would like to get a new light fixture(s) too.

Trophy

I'm concerned. Beatrice keeps talking about a trophy. How she hopes she wins one after her recital. I keep telling her it's not a competition it's a performance. You don't get trophies for performances. Then I read the paperwork from her dance studio, they're selling trophies for $20! Can you believe that!? That's so lame! First of all I do not want to spend the money period. Second I don't need another meaningless item around the house to sit and collect dust. I want Bea to get a trophy because she earned it. Not because I bought it. Where's the meaning in that? I try to explain this to Bea. I'm going to be so pissed if they hand out trophies after the recital and Bea is the only one that doesn't get one.... GRRRRR!
