Had my first Girl Scout meeting with MY troop yesterday! I found myself feeling a little crazy... two times I was like: what do we do next! Oh gawd!! Thankfully Brandy saved the day on both counts!
Here is what happened: Beatrice helped me set up early so we were good there. Brandy brought balloons to hang around our meeting location to let parents know they were in the right spot. We literally walked out of the building at 5 pm (the air was on upstairs since noon) we walked back in at 5:05 (give or take) and the timer on the air conditioning kicked off! And it was so hot already! I was stressing. Parents were arriving. Brandy's trying to fix the air as I ran down stairs to grab some fans... UGH!
So our early bird girls were naturally wondering around the place and to keep them occupied I gave them the craft activity to work on. I had wanted to start the meeting the proper way with the pledge and then the Girl
Scout promise.... but... things change! It worked out. I know we'll get into the swing of things as far as how long to let them work on a project and how long to let them eat snack! But all in all it went well.
I already have our first field trip planned and I can't wait for the next meeting! I just really hope these girls have fun and walk away with a memorable experience and lifelong friends like I did!
