Sooo I got an email. (DUN DUN DUN!)
It said something to the effect: Thanks for auditioning, though we don't need to see you for call backs you're still being considered for a role...
To me this means: We're not really sure if we'll need to cast you or not. We want to make sure the actors we want first are available and then maybe we'll fit you in somewhere... or not, we're not really sure and just want to keep our options open without hurting anyone's feelings just yet.
I'm trying to figure this out logically. There are only 2 white female roles. 1 Asian. 1 African-American. I'm automatically eligible for 2 roles. (Unless they want to try to make me look Asian.) There really isn't any chorus in the original Broadway production. I think there is like one or two extra people that help with certain puppets. I realize every show and every production is different especially since this will be a community theatre production. So I suppose it's very possible I could get a part in the chorus - if that's the way they're going.
I'm clearly not in the running for a lead - because as much as I'd love to think that I was the best voice they heard over the two days of auditions - I highly doubt it. (Though, yes it would be AMAZING!)
Oh well. I can't really get my hopes up because I need more information. If I found out that some girls were actually sent an email saying: Thanks but no thanks. Then I might get my hopes up a little bit.
Guess I'll just have to wait till I get a cast list on MARCH 23rd!!! GAH!
