What a Day!

Yesterday was quite a day for Bea and I. It started as the seemingly lazy Sunday I hoped it would be, but then Grandma came over! Grandma had been clothes shopping for Bea, more specifically, dress shopping for a dress for her to wear to her cousin Bean's wedding in November. She found two possible ones. Although we decided on the dressier one for the wedding and the kind of dressy one for the bridesmaid's luncheon. Grandma wanted to try them on Bea. So we did. The dressy one first. It looked great and Bea smiled when we put it over her head. She liked it a lot. The second one was a different story. Bea started fussing before we could even get it all the way on her, so we took it off. We changed her diaper shortly after and she seemed calmer so we tried the dress again. This time we were able to get it on. It looked so cute too. Bea had found the tags hanging from the sleeve and tried to chew on them. Grandma and I kept taking the tags out of her mouth. But somehow Bea managed to chew a corner off! I squealed in anguish, 'Mom what do we do!?' Grandma quickly grabbed Bea and turned her upside down and patted her on the back while I shoved my fingers in her mouth, trying to get her to gag it up. No luck. She puked a little but it was just her cereal that she had eaten. We rushed her out to the kitchen and gave her water then some of her apple juice. Bea was breathing fine. And she only seemed upset when we had turned her over. I guess Bea will have some paper in her poo this week. I'm so thankful that she didn't choke on it!

After all the excitement Grandma left and it was time for Bea's nap. I put her in her crib and turned her music on. She was fine for a while. But then she started crying. At first I thought I would just let her cry herself to sleep but something made me go sneak a peak at her.... and it's a good thing I did! She was on her hands and knees with her back to me. And her left leg was completely through one of the rail slats on her crib! She was stuck! And she has a little scrape now along her thigh. I think from trying to get free herself. :( Poor thing! It was all that I could take yesterday! So I swept her up out of her crib and cuddled with her and then let her sleep on her Daddy's tummy for her nap. What a stressful Sunday!

To end the day Bea started to crawl! I couldn't believe it. We were lying on the floor watching T.V and I saw her get up on her hands and knees to try to reach a dish that I had set aside on the floor. I watched her kind of wiggle her way to the dish. It was sort of like she was hopping on her knees. I pulled her back and she did it again, this time a little more coordinated! So Izak and I filmed her crawling for the first time! And we even called up my parents online to show them. I was fine with Bea forever rolling, but apparently she was not! So now I've got a crawler on my hands. Next week we'll have to show Ouma and Oupa! (But here are a couple of 'shorts' from our phones!)
