DIY

I was up to my usual DIY self this weekend... well... okay, more like Izak and my dad were. :) Somehow, thanks to my mom, we came to the decision to get laminate flooring. We thought if we did this we'd help out Bea's supposed allergies and therefore we'd get to keep the cats a little bit longer. What seemed like a relatively easy process quickly turned into a whole house remodel. Okay, so not really but...after the molding came up and the floor went down we realized we'd have to get thicker molding to cover the tiny slots where you couldn't possibly cut wood to fit into them. I also realized, but I've known this for quite some time, that I really do need to paint the main room. Buuuut.... where do I find the time, the funds, etc to do such a chore!? Ugh... I just can't think about it. Anyways, the floor is down, it looks fabulous! The house looks bigger already! Now I just have to clean because there is dust everywhere! Again, where do I find the time, not to mention the energy to do that!? UGH!

October is turning out to be a busy month for me!

Oh, Friday night we discovered that Bea has her first tooth! You can't see it, but you can sure feel it. (Have there been any cases of ones nipple being bitten off by their infant??) Also, Bea can clap and wave 'hello' and 'goodbye.' So many tiny milestones in one day! I was a bit overwhelmed and told her emphatically to stop growing now. I don't think she'll listen.

My mom bought Bea a Play School 'house' that Bea can crawl around. It's a free standing house facade I guess you can call it. It has a door and a window that opens and closes, a mailbox with letters, it sings and has various sounds... oh, and a light switch which turns the lights on and off. It's so fun! I think my mom and I were enjoying it more than Bea when we were putting it together. We found ourselves singing: 'A tisket, a tasket a green and yellow basket, lalalalala and on the way I lost it.' We couldn't seem to remember the rest of the song! Oh well. :)
