This Morning.

This morning Beatrice had on her flowered sunglasses, drinking her cup of apple juice while we drove to school. We arrived at school and I got out of the car and opened her door. I undid her seat belt and I started to grab her to carry her out and into school, but Bea stopped me. She said, "Mom, I can do it." And she proceeded to slide out of her car seat onto the floor of the car and then slide out onto the sidewalk. She also wanted to open the gate by herself and then the front door by herself. I just stood back and watched her. She then took of her classes matter of factly and said, "Mom, here." It was so cute. She can be such a little diva. I'm still continuously amazed at how fast she's growing and how independent she is and wants to be.

In Store shopping vs. Online shopping

Last week the girls and I went to the mall (with the help of Uncle Sergio.) We were searching for a gift for Ava's birthday. I found a super cute sweater dress at Old Baby. I liked it so much I got one for Bea too. Unfortunately the store only had one pair of leggings. But I thought, no problem I'll just get online and get some for Bea. Well! I went online to get the leggings and guess what!? That same dress was on sale for a $7.00 difference! I texted Sergio outraged! He suggested I email the company. So I did. They sent me this blah, blah letter back but basically saying I could take my receipt in and get the difference. I was determined to do so. I mean after all I am still unemployed and every little bit helps. So today I took the girls to the mall. First off that was a big mistake to go by myself without the double stroller. Millie was fast asleep, but Bea made a run for it as soon as she could. Anyways. Once I had Bea in hand. I tried to tell the sales girl my situation. I even showed her my email... she said she could only give me money if the item went on sale IN the store. It had by the way only a $4.00 difference... I was like whatever... I took what I could get. In the future I will just buy online and never take Bea to the mall unless I have an extra set of hands and/or her buckled up tightly in a stroller.

The park.

Yesterday the girls and I went to the park with Sergio, Ava, Brandy, Dezi, Adam and Chris. The kids had so much fun and I'd venture to say the adults had fun too. It was such a nice day we all brought a picnic lunch and some blankets to sit on. Bea loved playing on the slide and the swings. She didn't want to go home. She kept walking around singing the opening song from Beauty and the Beast. I'm so glad we were all able to meet up like that and I hope we can do it again.


Last night I was getting Beatrice ready for bed. She had picked out her pajamas and I was trying to help her put them on and she said: 'No, I can do it by myself Mom.' So I watched her as she put her shirt on all by herself and I sat there just amazed at how big she's getting. I even started to cry. She asked me why I was crying and went and got me a tissue and asked me not to cry anymore. It was the cutest thing. I love her and Camille so much!

Tomorrow we have Ava's birthday party to go to. I had so much fun shopping for another little girl. :) I'm looking forward to getting out of the house with the girls and socializing!

Dorothy

Last week when I ordered Beatrice's costume online I kept telling her, "any day now it will come in the mail, we'll have to keep checking the front porch." So every day she'd check and it wouldn't be there. And she would hang her head down and be sad for a minute or two. Then yesterday I knew that it was there, cause I was tracking it. I told Bea, "it might be here today we'll have to check when we get home." Well once we were home she ran to the front window and screamed: "it's here! it's here mommy!" She was so excited that I wish I had gotten it on camera. She was running back and forth from the door to me, just bursting. She couldn't wait for me to open the front door. And as soon as we opened the box she wanted to put it on right away. She even let me do her hair!

This is Bea this morning... I have to make her take it off when she eats and sleeps. She'd be in this costume all day and night if I would let her.

The Land of Oz

I love to watch Beatrice watching The Wizard of Oz. She is so enthralled with it. Dorothy and her friends approach the emerald city and are trying to get in. Bea is so intent watching it, so serious When the gate keeper finally realizes they were sent from the good witch of the north, the look on her face is so cute! She's just smiling and watching.

In Camille news, she has TWO little biters coming in! I saw them yesterday. She's getting so big so fast! It makes me sad. :(

Got it down

I must say I think I've got handling the girls down to a fine art. We have our little routine. On Thursday morning we went to Target. I had initially planned to have Camille in the front section and Beatrice in the basket portion of the cart but when we got there Camille had fallen asleep. So I wedged her carrier into the basket and stuck Bea in the front section. I was very surprised Bea was great. She normally wants to get out and 'hold me.' But this time she didn't. Maybe it was because I gave her things to hold?? I was able to wedge the rest of my groceries around sleeping Camille. She did wake up, when we were almost done shopping but she was chill. It was a pretty good outing and I'm getting more confident with going out with them by myself. Thursday after school I dragged them to Joann's Fabric store and they were perfect!

Yesterday we gave Ruggers a bath out in the back yard. Bea helped me while Millie was in her bouncy thingy. I got so ambitious that I decided to clean out Rug's gross water bowls... and there were several shiny black widows that came out and I hate spiders in general but I couldn't just let them live! So I ran and got my hiking boots on and dried to mash them. I hope it worked. I'm only slightly worried cause the grass was already wet so I don't know if they were pretending to be dead. The bug guy comes in a couple of weeks and I will definitely inform him of our black widows. But with the black widow scare it made me want to clean off the patio just to be safe. So I did that yesterday as well. After that we came inside the girls watched The Wizard of Oz while I worked on Millie's invitations and sketched out Beatrice's invitations. Beatrice wants to be Dorothy for Halloween and she loves The Wizard of Oz so I decided to throw her a Wizard of Oz themed 3rd birthday party. I've been consumed with that since Halloween stuff is out and I need to think of everything I might need for her party that I might not be able to get in December! We had a full morning and then we were able to relax at Gigi's and Granpy's for homemade lasagna! Yum!

Greek Festival

Yesterday, Uncle Sergio and I took the girls to the Greek Festival. We had gyros and Greek fries, they were so good! Beatrice got to jump in a bounce house and she got to go on some other bounce house like thing. She didn't care for the gyros but she loved watching the people and kids. She 'got' to use the port-a-pottie (yeah that was an adventure.) She didn't quite understand why it didn't flush. As we were walking out of the festival she announced that she needed to use the potty again. I really didn't want to walk all the way back to the potties and I asked her if she could hold it. I didn't really get an answer but I drove to the next town over, maybe like 20 mins away and we stopped at a Baskin and Robbins where she got to use the facilities and picked out a scoop of strawberry ice cream. It was kind of a surprise to me that she chose that. I'd just never gave her the option before, besides one other time at a yogurt place and she chose vanilla. Of course I had to explain to her that she wasn't getting a bowl of strawberries. She ate all of her ice cream and was somewhat well behaved. But it was an interesting day and I would totally go to the Greek fest again.
