Christmas came early...

Well Christmas came early for the Du Toit household. Camille made her arrival on December 20th at 12:59pm. She was 7lbs. 3oz. and 19 1/4 inches long. The labor and delivery went really fast! Camille was so purple when they placed her on my tummy! She had the cord wrapped around her neck-just like her big sister Beatrice. But she also had a true knot in her cord as well! Talk about dramatic! Izak did get to cut the cord this time around though. So far things are going really well. I don't know if that has anything to do with Camille's personality or maybe the fact that I know what to do now... ?? Of course things could change, so I'm sort of waiting and hoping that things don't change. But we'll see. I love this little girl so much! And I forgot how sweet little babies are! I could so picture myself having more... but if we decide to add again I'm definitely waiting till Camille's three!

Here are Beatrice and Camille on Christmas morning with their stockings.
I promise I will post more pictures of Camille. I just wanted to get at least one up for now! :)

December 20th

Okay my friends! I saw my doctor yesterday afternoon and I'm only at a 4 1/2. The doctor looked at the calendar and said: "Let's induce you on Sunday, I'm on call anyway..." She gave me the paperwork so I'm set. As long as Camille doesn't feel the need to come earlier. Soo Sunday the 20th will be Camille's birthday!! :) I'm excited but scared!! I hope I can handle two little girls, there is no turning back now!

Playing the waiting game...

Today was my first day of maternity leave. I did absolutely nothing! I dropped Bea off at day care. Washed my comforter, which took all day to dry. Ate a left over Togo's sandwich while watching a friend's copy of Persuasion. I also ate the last piece of my shower cake and basically napped for the rest of the day and read Vampire Darcy's Desire. I did find time to pick up Bea's room and the main room.
Tomorrow my day will be a little more busy. I'm having breakfast with my friends at Mimi's! (I haven't been there in ages.) I'm already having trouble trying to decide if I want a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice or their delish hot chocolate... hmm.. I think before that I will run to Target to get some last minute hospital toiletries and whatever else I decide to buy on impulse. :) Then later in the afternoon I'm getting a polish change on my fingers and toes! Of course I'm planning all this IF Camille doesn't decide to come tonight. :)
Wednesday I have to wait for the Dish people to bring our new DVR because Izak broke ours. (Hence the reason why I wasn't a vegetable in front of the t.v. all day.) I'm also toying with the idea of making gingerbread cookies that day too. We'll see how I'm feeling.

Beatrice is so talkative! She loves the Frosty the Snowman song. And Santa Clause is coming to town song. Sometimes she'll randomly starting singing them. Sunday morning she woke up saying 'Frosty the Snowman, Frosty the Snowman.' She's getting so big everyday! Can she stop growing now!?

Tiny Baby!

Last night we had our friends, the Johnson's, over. The Johnson's have a new tiny baby! I saw Savanna in the hospital but I had a bit of a head cold and I didn't want to hold her then. Last night I finally got to hold her. She's so tiny and so light!! I can't remember Beatrice being either of those. Bea was just mesmerized by her. She wanted to hold the tiny baby! So she sat on the sofa and I rested Savanna in her lap while still actually holding her. Bea just kept looking at her. I tried to explain to Beatrice that pretty soon Camille would be the tiny baby in the house, but I'm pretty sure she didn't understand. Beatrice was so helpful all night to the new baby. She pulled out her changing pad when Carrie needed to change Savanna's diaper. She tried to bring Carrie her diaper bag, but it was too heavy. She'd pick up Savanna's bottle and hand it to Carrie. It was so cute. I just hope she's just as helpful when Camille comes! Every time I was holding Savanna, Bea would say: "me hold baby!" and raise her arms to take Savanna from me. So cute!!

Christmas Party and Surprise!

Last night we had our annual friend's pot luck. It started a couple of years ago. And we've managed to hang on to the 'tradition' of it despite sick kids and such. Last year the Du Toits had to miss the party because we were all sick. This year we had it at our house. It went really well! Everyone was healthy (well just about) the kids all got along together. Thanks to Izak's early Christmas gift from me, (I got him the wii) everyone had fun hanging around the t.v and bowling and such. Lots of food, good times, and of course great friends! They also surprised me with a mini baby shower for Camille complete with presents and a yummy cake! Here are some pictures:

Beatrice got a new baby doll from the Brantley's.
This morning Bea came walking out in my early Christmas gift from Izak, Uggs.

What Gives?

The last couple of days Beatrice has been acting funny. I don't know if it's because she's had this cough that she can't seem to shake or if it's because she can sense it in the air that things will be changing soon. Or maybe it's just the terrible two's hitting us. She's been really whiny and throwing small fits. Maybe it's just me, I just lack the energy to deal with it right now so I just send her to her room, which has worked in the past but hasn't worked currently. I also have to bribe her with food, mainly chocolate when I want her to do something.
This morning she would have nothing to do with getting dressed. She wanted to stay in her jammies that Gigi got her. They were glittery. She wouldn't even let me change her diaper! I finally got her diaper changed but she kicked and screamed a great deal. We were late to daycare and I was like 30 min. late to work - for the first time ever! Ugh. It will be nice to not have to 'rush' to be somewhere next week. But I just don't know what to do about her... this new whiny Beatrice. I really hope she gets better when Camille gets here. I'm so worried that they won't get a long and she'll feel left out.
