Easter Fantasy Pictures!!

Last year I wanted to have the girls Easter pictures taken with REAL bunnies and chicks! I halfheartedly tried to find where I could borrow the critters and then realized: 'Who am I kidding? I'm not photographer!' This past year I got reconnected with an old cast mate from the first Taffeta's and she just so happened to be a photographer AND this year decided to do my very idea for Easter pictures. (I'm pretty sure I hadn't told her about my idea. I think she came up with it on her own.) But I am sooo pleased with the pictures! They turned out so well and the girls had so much fun!! I wanted to jump in there too and play with the bunnies and chicks myself! I haven't posted all of the pictures but these are so cute! I love the little world they're in.

Ugh! It's still not done!!

My dad came over on Saturday to put up the crown moulding in the girls bathroom. After it was hammered and caulked I realized I'd still have to paint the damn thing. I tried scraping the excess caulk off, but got so annoyed that I just left it and painted over it with one coat. Well, it looks terrible. And I'm gonna have to get back up there and sand the damn thing. I'm so OVER this bathroom re-do! I envisioned this last weekend putting the final touches on it and cleaning everything and putting everything back in order. NO LUCK!

While my dad was busy with the moulding in the bathroom, I was busy painting the girls rooms. Yes, I'm crazy. And no, I don't normally start a project before I've finished the other. But I just wanted to do something and the old pink paint from before Bea was born was calling to me. So I painted the closet wall the baby pink that's already on the window wall. I thought I'd have enough of the old stuff, but of course I didn't so I sent Izak to get more and while he was there pick up some other pink paint that the girls picked out.

Here's Bea's wall before and after! I like it a lot. I still need to paint Millie's wall... maybe next weekend. I've got BIG plans for the house!

Girl's Bathroom re-do!!

Last weekend (or week really) I decided I was going to change the girl's bathroom. I've been wanting to do it for a while. And with the help of Pinterest I was able to gather the ideas that I wanted for this bathroom and put them into action! I had TONS of help from my dad! We're ALMOST done. I think by this weekend (if I have anything to do about it) we'll be done! Here are some before and 'sort' of after pictures!!


I had Izak take the ugly oak and florescent light box down!















I took everything off the walls and filled up ALL the holes.







































Then I started painting!













I got to take the baseboards off because I'm upgrading them and making them nicer looking!




















I painted the cabinets with some Annie Sloan Chalk paint!















I've got the wainscoting up and I'm in between sanding, caulking, and painting. Once I have the finished product I will post more pictures. I've already decided that I'm going to re-do MY bathroom, the kitchen AND finally get around to painting the living room!

Last night, I guess Bea was eating dinner and playing around on her chair. I went out into the garage and I hear this snap, thud, then crying. Bea somehow knocked her chair backward and fell mid chew. She's crying and I notice red in her mouth. Blood. Mixed in with her chicken. Gross. She nearly bit the tip of her tongue off AND managed to impale herself with either her fork or thumb. She has a little red round scab now under her chin. :( All I could say last night while holding her as she cried was: See! I told you! That's why I don't want you guys playing around on the chairs!! See!! That's why you have to listen to me!

Will they listen now?? I doubt it.

Disney Land was a bit of a bust

This last weekend we went to Disney Land. We got there around 9ish on Friday night and we did a few rides. Here is a picture of the girls Saturday morning knocking on Gigi and Grandpy's hotel room door. I love their bed heads! As we drove past the park to the parking lot we saw mass crowds of people waiting OUTSIDE the park! I knew something was off. Even when we got to the parking lot there was a huge line for the buses - not normal! It turns out there was a bomb threat or something and the park was closed for like four hours! Luckily there's lots to do in southern California and we went to the aquarium in Long Beach. The girls loved it! Bea and I got to touch sharks AND sting rays!

We were able to hit the park later that afternoon. We found perfect seats to view the fireworks! But they were canceled! :(

Sunday we just went to South Coast Plaza and shopped for the girls. Bea got her ears pierced - ONE at a time!! And didn't cry! The girls also got some new shoes. We met up with my BFF from preschool and had lunch. Overall it was a good weekend, but a bad Disney weekend. Oh well. Next time I guess.
