What a Weekend

Friday night Izak and I loaded up the girls and headed down south. Our ultimate destination: Disney Land!

It was a rocky drive at first. And I went as prepared as I could be. We finally settled into a groove only stopping once before the grapevine. We made it to the hotel very tired. We just wanted to fall into bed, but Beatrice would not have it. She sort of freaked out a bit. She was crying and saying that she wanted to go home! She's slept in hotels before but of course she doesn't remember. She finally fell asleep while I sang the opening song from Beauty and the Beast.

Saturday we got dressed headed down stairs for breakfast and then hopped in the car and drove to Disney. I had wanted to get there right when the park opened, but since we were only getting tickets for one park, one day I figured we'd still be waiting in line and therefore we wouldn't get in right away anyway.. despite a minor setback waiting to get on the tram things went smoothly. We got our tickets, got into the park and headed to Small World. Bea and Millie totally loved it. Both girls were just looking everywhere. I tried to get some pictures, which I will post later. Beatrice wanted to go again, but I thought we should try to get on the tea cups first. On the way to the teacups we walked through Sleeping Beauty's castle and saw Snow White's well. We even got to see a little show. It was a fast trip to Disney but Beatrice loved it! I can't wait to take her back and really spend some more time riding rides and just walking around and seeing stuff. Our new jogging stroller worked out fairly well. Millie was good, she even fell asleep for about an hour inside the park.

Stacey came up to visit and watch the girls that evening because Izak and I were going to our first Dodger game! It was so much fun! The Dodgers won. Izak and I got a Dodger dog and a Super Dodger dog.. I guess he grabbed the wrong one and I ended up eating the Super Dodger dog... it was delicious!

Sunday we slept in, got breakfast at the hotel and then headed to Old Baby for some quick shopping before we all had to head out. It was a lot of fun and now I am super tired!

Today Beatrice is wearing big girl underwear at school. We're going to get her potty trained starting this week. AND she's going to start sleeping in her room again... it's gonna be a long week for me. :( And I'll be running in a 5K on Saturday!? What am I thinking?

Happy Mother's Day!

When I went to pick Beatrice up on Friday from Daycare she was standing at the door waiting for me and she said: Happy Mother's Day Mommy.
It was the cutest thing I ever heard and I seriously almost started crying.

I hope all the mommy's I know have a wonderful mother's day. I'm so blessed to have you all in my life.

Non Fat Milk!?

We had Bea's 2 year well baby visit today. She's doing excellent. The doctor wants her to drink non fat milk though! :( What's that about? So now I have to start buying her her own special milk because I sure as shit am not going to drink that stuff. :( Oh well. I guess it will be good for her...

Snow White (and other things)

This last weekend was a busy one for us! Saturday morning we grabbed some bagels from Panera Bread and headed to Mooney's Grove to cheer on Dezi, Chris and Tonja running a 5k race. Beatrice got to run around after the geese. She saw baby geese and got to see Adam. Beatrice, Adam and I walked over the the nearest play area and they had a bunch of fun running around on the equipment, sliding down the slides and crawling up the metal bars (which gave me a tiny heart attack!)

Saturday night we headed over to Gigi and Grandpy's where I had my bleated birthday dinner. David and Megan were there too and Bea had a lot of fun playing with both of them.

Sunday I got up early and ran/walked around Lowes. Then I bought a handful of flowers to plant. We ate breakfast outside on the back patio on my new table and chairs! Then got ready for Snow White at the Enchanted Playhouse. Beatrice wanted to wear her Cinderella dress to the show, so I let her. She was telling me in the car as I buckled her in that she was excited. So cute! Bea was so excited when the lights dimmed in the theatre. She looked at me and smiled so big and held her little fists in the air. At intermission we went and got m&m's and she got to meet some other little girls. Tonja and Jenni were there and Brandy had attended the show with us. I thought we might have to leave after intermission, but Karen (the director of the show) found us a couple of seats up front and Bea was in heaven! She even mimicked the evil queen's laugh during a scene change and the whole audience busted up. I can't believe she made it through the whole show. But she did and she loved it!

Another hectic morning...

I just don't understand what's happening to me! Maybe it's because of my birthday?? Getting a year older is doing a number on me. This morning I did my mental checklist and still managed to forget something! My purse. I normally don't take my purse out of the car. Even yesterday afternoon as I was taking Bea out of the car I had my purse on my arm and I thought to myself, why am I taking my purse inside? But did I stop and throw it back in the car? No. So I don't have my purse. Fabulous! At least I have my cell right? Geez....

On the way to daycare Bea started talking about the 'Angel' again. And how she has to share her shoes. I was trying to explain that in the Wizard of Oz those girls are witches. I had the soundtrack of Wicked in the car with me so I whipped out the pamphlet and showed her the picture of Glenda and Elphaba (did I spell that right?) standing together singing, 'one short day in the emerald city...' Beatrice was enthralled. She just looked at it the whole way to daycare. She even wanted to take it inside with her to show everyone and since Mary considered it a book she got to keep it with her. I hope it isn't ruined by the end of the day. Oh well.

Also this morning Beatrice was helping me get dressed and she opened up the cupboard under my sink to find my lint roller because she said I had hair on me. When she couldn't find it she went to her bathroom and pulled the one out from under her sink and then handed it to me. She's such a cutie.

(Speaking of bathrooms I'd like to change up her bathroom. It's currently painted navy blue and has a beach/lighthouse theme. I'd like to make it more kid cool - keeping the wall color of course. Any suggestions?? I've looked online everywhere and have yet to find something really cute to change it to.)

Yesterday morning as we were walking out the door Bea said: "I no hoochie mama!" I was like, WHAT?! Then she said it again and when I asked her where she got that from she said Amanda. (Which is one of the teachers at her school.) I think Amanda says that every now and then when Bea has short shorts on. She jokes that she has her hoochie mama shorts on. Not sure how I feel about that.

The other day Bea was pretending she was calling Adam. She was like, 'Adam? How you doin'? Just chillin.'' it was so cute.
